What is The Woods Project?
The Woods Project, a nonprofit organization based in Houston, is making a remarkable impact on the lives of high school students in our city. Their mission is to provide unique outdoor and wilderness exploration experiences that are not only educational but also essential for these students’ long-term success.
Their programs offer a diverse range of opportunities, from short weekend camping trips just a few hours away, to ongoing club participation within the students’ own high schools, and even extended 2-week camping trips to national parks like Olympic or Zion. These experiences introduce students to the natural beauty and wonders of our national parks system, while also helping them build important life skills.
Looking ahead to the summer of 2024, The Woods Project is preparing to welcome nearly 200 students to their 2-week wilderness immersion program. Connecting young people with the natural world is integral to CleanSky’s mission, as they represent the future stewards of sustainability. To make this program a success and continue changing the lives of these young individuals, they need our support and involvement.
How CleanSky Cares is Getting Involved
CleanSky Energy is a Super Team Sponsor for The Woods Project, 12th annual, Walk For The Woods Project . The event will be hosted at BakerRipley Ripley House on Saturday November 4 @ 9am. We are happy to join with members of the community to help provide life-changing leadership development opportunities to Houston high school students.
