Free Month 12 locks you into a fixed rate for 12 months, which means you’ll avoid price hikes in the summer. The free month is defined as the billing cycle ending with your meter read date in October 2026 and may not be a calendar month.

Only the energy charges from CleanSky Energy on your bill are eligible for the free month bill credit.

Your price may be adjusted to reflect changes in the charges from your utility provider (e.g. CenterPoint Energy, ONCOR, AEP Texas, Texas-New Mexico or Lubbock Power & Light), changes to the ERCOT, PUCT, or other administrative fees charged to loads or changes resulting from federal, state or local laws or regulatory actions that impose new or modified fees or costs that are beyond CleanSky Energy’s control.

Fees not included in price: Insufficient Funds: $30; Disconnect Notice Fee: $10; Disconnection Fee: $50. Information on other non-recurring fees is available in the Terms of Service of your chosen plan in the section labeled ‘Other Charges and Fees’.

In the event of an emergency power outage in your home, call your local utility company. They are responsible for fixing power outages when they occur. Your utility’s contact information is found on your monthly energy invoice.

CleanSky offers 100% renewable energy plans backed by Renewable Energy Credits (RECs). This ensures that every unit of energy used is tracked and accounted for via sustainable sources such as wind, solar, and hydro.

No additional equipment is necessary to receive electricity from CleanSky Energy. Your home or business will use the same energy-supply lines as always.

No. We are in no way associated with utility companies. CleanSky Energy is licensed by the appropriate Public Utility Commissions to supply electricity in all of the states we service. The utility companies are regulated to transport electricity to the population. CleanSky Energy purchases green energy commodities from the open energy market in order to provide the most affordable energy rates possible to our customers.

The exact time for switching is determined by your local utility. It depends on when you enroll but the change will most likely occur on the date of the next scheduled meter-read by the utility. After enrolling with us, you will receive a welcome letter with the details of your energy agreement. It may take one to two billing cycles for CleanSky Energy to appear on your invoice from the utility company.

No. We’ll handle notifying the right people for you. CleanSky will ensure it’s completely seamless and with no interruption in energy service.

There is no enrollment fee with CleanSky Energy. However, your local utility may charge a nominal, one-time service charge that will appear on the following invoice from the utility.

Customers choose their retail electric provider, such as CleanSky Energy, and electricity plan rather than being assigned a utility with a set rate. Utilities still own and maintain the power lines and deliver electricity, but REPs buy power from the wholesale market and sell it to customers through a variety of plans. These plans can vary by price structure (fixed vs. variable), contract length, time-of-use rates, and features like renewable energy content or bill credits.

Clean energy plans are an option within deregulated markets. The actual electrons powering your home come from the same Texas grid regardless of plan, but REPs purchase renewable energy certificates (RECs) on your behalf to match the amount of electricity you use.
